 
DJ Funk Biography DJ Funk is the internationally acclaimed pioneer and undisputed king of Ghetto House music. With tracks licensed to the likes of Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, and Richard ?Humpty? Vission for use in mixed CDs; along with having played 19 countries across 5 continents (sub-headlining with artists Wu Tang Clan, Run DMC, Funk Master Flex, Daft Punk, and Bad Boy Bill to name a few), having licensed deals with Moonshine, Sony, and Virgin Records for mix CDs, and creating a highly predominant house music sub-genre, DJ Funk has accomplished more by the age of 35 than most people achieve in an entire lifetime. The recently released mixed CD ?Booty House Anthems 2? further establishes DJ Funk as one of the most prolific, intuitive, and gifted composers in contemporary dance music.
Born Charles Chambers on January 25, 1971, on Chicago?s West Side, Funk was influenced early on by the unique style of house music prevalent throughout the Chicagoland area. Some of his preliminary musical influences included Farley Jack Master Funk, The Hot Mix 5, and multiple other Chicago House originators, along with local neighborhood DJ and mixing mentor, DJ X. In addition to his passion for soul soothing house music, Funk also shows a love of Hip Hop, which he assertively and successfully helped push into an initially [Hip Hop] reluctant Chicago club scene. Seeing the vast appreciation and paralleled appreciation of the Dance Music and Hip Hop cultures, DJ Funk strived to find a happy medium between these increasingly popular, turntable relayed, club culture music genres.

With his independent Chicago based record label Funk Records/Funk Entertainment, DJ Funk continues to pump out Booty Bouncin? super hits like ?Pump It?, ?Run?, and ?Booty Bounce? in a recording studio previously owned by rock and roll legend STYX. In addition to Funk?s international recognition by music fans and fellow composers, he was featured in the documentary of dance music history, ?Modulation?; a film sold nationally at Tower Records featuring some of the greatest dance producers and DJs in the world. Furthermore, this Midwest legend has expanded his talents beyond the Ghetto House perimeters to remix artists like Basement Jaxx, Ed Banger Records? Justice, Angel Alanis, and continues to remix other world renowned artists. ?There?s a lot I want to accomplish yet, but the main thing I want to do is keep playing the music that makes dance floors jump.? says the King of booty.
